MULTI-TENANT INDUSTRIAL INCUBATOR OPENS AT TITUSVILLE OPPORTUNITY PARK Titusville, PA September 29, 2000
Building 63, a new multi-tenant industrial incubator, at Titusville Opportunity Park opened for business on September 29, 2000 with a ribbon-cutting celebration. This ceremony, a culmination of six years
of work by the Titusville Redevelopment Authority, celebrated the completion of the first of many planned projects at the industrial park.
Funding for this project was provided by Titusville Redevelopment Authority, U.S. Economic Development Administration, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Administration,
Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Industrial Development Program, the Enterprise Zone Revolving Loan Program, and National City Community Development Corporation.
Titusville Redevelopment Authority, working in partnership with National City Community Development Corporation, in an effort to enhance Titusville's economic growth, has designed this first section of the
park as an established source of income that will help pay for upkeep costs and future renovations to other buildings at TOP.
Larry Fledderman, vice president and market manager for National City explained, "National City has a special tradition of service and contributions to the Titusville community.
We have provided banking services to this area for more than a century and a quarter. Today's investment is our way of saying we believe in the community and want to express our thanks for the support we have received through the years."
To date, three of the four bays in Building 63 have confirmed tenants, and several other companies are currently in negotiations for the fourth space of the industrial incubator. This is good news
for Titusville, as Michael Allyn, Titusville Redevelopment Authority's Executive Director stated that "with the incubator's three confirmed tenants 50 new jobs will be created in the first year alone."
That number will increase with the selection of the successful candidate for the incubators remaining space.
On a visit to Titusville Opportunity Park last week to present a check from the Industrial Development Program for Phase I of the infrastructure, Lieutenant Governor Mark Schweiker expressed appreciation
to the "enterprising businesses" which are ready to move into the building and stated that "Titusville is once again open for business."
Congressman John Peterson honored the board of directors and staff of the Titusville Redevelopment Authority by cutting the ribbon, and officially opening Titusville Opportunity Park for business.
