TITUSVILLE OPPORTUNITY PARK REFLECTING POSITIVE GROWTH
Titusville, PA February 27, 2001
"Activity at Titusville Opportunity Park is continuing at a strong pace," said Christine Bravo Public Relations Coordinator of Titusville Redevelopment Authority.
She went on to say "In addition to the recruitment of potential businesses interested in the many benefits of being located in a Keystone Opportunity Zone, site development at TOP continues to be a priority for the authority.
The necessary infrastructure improvements that are currently being addressed by the Authority are a strategic investment that will foster long-term growth at the park." Phase one of these improvements
include electric, water and natural gas systems.
A bid opening for the electrical work was held Monday at the Redevelopment Authority offices. Two bids for the work were received. These bids are currently being reviewed and announcement of the successful bidder will be made at the Authority's board meeting on Monday. Other utility work will follow the electrical work as quickly as possible.
"The Authority understands that speed to market is more important than ever. Assisting businesses to get up and running is paramount and in the forefront of the development process at TOP."
Nine businesses are now located within the park.
Among the businesses located at TOP are a metal tubing manufacturer, an Internet service provider, an electronic connectors manufacturer, a small business development center, an e-commerce business, and a manufacturer of ceramic modules and pre-cast shapes.
As development at the park continues, it was realized that undeveloped space could be used to assist local businesses in need of additional storage space.
Several area businesses are currently utilizing available storage space at the park. Bravo concluded, "The Redevelopment Authority is happy to serve the community by providing local businesses with the opportunity to increase production without having the huge capital investment associated with creating additional storage space of their own. The significance of businesses taking advantage of the available space is simple, it translates into good, short-term economic sense."
